reader, anonymous, writes (30 August 2010): you are more likely to get pregnant on the days leading up to ovulation, and about two or three days after ovulation through the period is the safer times if you're wanting to avoid pregnancy. If you started on day 17 and had sex on day 28, then that is a day leading up to ovulation for you, am I correct? This is dangerous because semen can live anywhere from 3 to 7 days in the vagina.
So you CAN get pregnant from that but it is way too early to tell from bodily cramps.

No you haven't even started ovulating..I get cramps even after my period, didn't used to but now I do, I even bloat a week in advance. Besides, if you were one of those ones which it doesn't happen often who starts ovulating the day after her period ends you would have to wait till next month for anything to show up. If you're still unsure wait till your next period and if you miss it or it's a week late and you're spotting then most definitely take a pregnancy test.
