I'm so confused! I think he likes me but I'm not sure. At first my friends say go for it and now they are pushing me away from him! What should I do? Apologies if my question is too long or doesn't make sense at times;

I'm really confused. I like this guy who I met through mutual friends. He's quite shy and so am I but lately he's started drinking again so we both loosen up and get on really well.

When we first met two of my friends told me we would go well together which made me really happy because I liked him a lot. I knew that he had liked one of my friends before but she didn't like him back and she started encouraging me. Now I've found out he kissed her before we met, which makes me feel kind of weird. Also, he would kiss her while teetotal but all he'll do is hug me when drunk, which makes me think he doesn't fancy me?

Apparently he said he thought I was pretty, but also that I was out of his league. My friends think I can do better even though he is a really good friend of theirs, so I kind of feel like they are warning me off for some reason. But they don't understand how much I actually like him.

He is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. My friends say that because he recently broke up with his girlfriend and then kissed my friend he doesn't want to move onto me for fear of being a 'player.'

You could ignore your friends remarks and just observe or trust your own intuitions.
