I have feeling, but it is hardly pleasurable…it is more irritating (not painful) than anything else. Recently, I read somewhere that my problem may be due to clitoral adhesions. However, I’m not sure how I can tell if I suffer from this condition. I understand that adhesions are caused by a buildup of smegma. I’m a clean person. I wash EVERYWHERE every day. But I have a feeling that if I do have adhesions, it was caused from when I was a little girl. I took baths every day, but I never thoroughly touched my genitals because I thought it was naughty. I did not wash under my clitoral hood (I did not even know what a clitoris was). Of course, now that I’m older, I know better, and I practice proper hygiene…but that does not help me if it is too late.I’m not sure if my clitoris is considered small, but I do know that the exposed head is rather small compared to the length and width of the actual hood. I have read that the clitoris should look like the end of a penis with a coronal ridge exposed. If that is true, then I DO have adhesions because I do not have a visible ridge. I have a nub. Can someone please explain to me how I can identify if I have clitoral adhesions, and what methods I can take to correct this problem? Thanks you.

The advice to see a gynecologist is sound, for your own comfort. You are most likely quite normal, but probably too young and inexperienced to know much about clitoral pleasure. And I think that you are greatly overanalyzing the structure of the clitoris. Get the professional examination.

Self diagnosis is NOT the way to go, and you need someone who's educated, no Redbook (or some other source). Every woman is different, and odds are your fine! But please seek an educated unbiased opinion.
