A female Australia age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I've been seeing this guy for like over a month, we're 23/24 and met over the net. Lately I've noticed little things like, inconsistency in the things he says. Like, I'll ask which days he has off work, he'll say Tues and Weds. Then later I asked, and he said 'Oh no, I've got next Weds off and this Friday my day off'. Then on Fri, I msgd asking how his day was, and he said he was on his break, but I said, aren't u at home? He said, no my day off is next Friday, but at least I had Weds off. (what?!) and then he msgd again saying, sorry I mean I had that day off with you, I'm getting my days mixed up. And then I think he felt worried, cause I brought this up with him, and he called me, ofcourse I felt weird and he could sense it. Other little things like, he said he got me a present, it's been like 2 weeks, haven't seen it! hah! Am I being paranoid, or is this compulsive lying? How do you approach this, I mean I really wanted to trust him and like him... but... hmmm!!!

It could be that he tells lies or is seeing someone else. Maybe you could make a joke about the present and lighten things up, because putting him on the spot is going to make him nervous whether he is lying or not. He could be forgetful.
