Can you hurt yourself by using a dildo without Lube and going way too hard at yourself? I believe I may have rip something in my vagina from using a rubber dildo without the lube, I was going pretty hard for a couple days like that, once a day until I started to have some blood. I am now bleeding a lot and I'm not sure if it's cuz of the dildo or if I'm pregnant.

Honeypie agony auntI forgot to add, maybe... getting a smaller vibrator for EXTERNAL use (on the clitoris area) is a better idea than a rubber dildo.

This is why:

And of course, you won't have "side effects" like bleeding from being too rough on yourself.

You wouldn't scratch your eye with a fork or sharp knife, right? So TAKE care not to be rough on your vagina, you only have one. Take care of it. That means, treat it good and see a doctor when things are out of the ordinary.

Honeypie agony auntAny time bleeding occurs that isn't your regular PERIOD go see your doctor.

Yes, you can hurt the tissue of the vagina being too rough.

So go see your doctor/Gyno. Make sure you also test for pregnancy if that is a possibility.

And then you need to consider your options IF you are pregnant.

A female reader, Dionee' South Africa +, writes (3 August 2017):

Dionee' agony auntOP, You very well could have seriously injured yourself by being too rough with the sex toy.

You need to realise that the vagina is a very sensitive area on our bodies and we need to handle it with care, with that being said; whenever you insert anything in there, make sure that you are well lubricated and that includes using lube if you aren't naturally lubricated well.

Pregnant? Ok so there's something here that we aren't being told because you must have had intercourse to even think of pregnancy as a possibility.

I always find that it's good to know the female body from a biology perspective so that you know what is and isn't possible when it comes to pregnancy and also, how to properly prevent unwanted pregnancies.

Educate yourself on your body and learn as much as you can. Speak to your doctor and older females that you know who can give you proper advice.

Always make sure to use protection if you're sexually active. DO NOT rely on the pulling out method if you don't want a child. Make sure that the person that you're with is responsible and cares as much about your wellbeing, in terms of your health, as you do.

GO TO THE DOCTOR ASAP and get checked. Since you're bleeding a lot, go to the doctor and tell him/her what you've told us and they will be able to help you further.

Good luck dear.

Fatherly Advice agony auntDoctor now! And every time you have unexpected bleeding.

people often avoid going to the doc out of embarrassment. doctors are used to it. it's nothing they haven't seen before.

BTW heavy bleeding is Not a sign of pregnancy. Quite the opposite actually.

A female reader, Andie's Thoughts United Kingdom +, writes (3 August 2017):

Andie's Thoughts agony auntPregnant how? Also, yes, you can very easily hurt yourself if you don't use lube with anything you insert. Please don't do it again without lube.

I think you need more sex education, OP. Please do some research on safe sex before doing anything else; there is no reason young people should be risking pregnancy. Two forms of contraception should be used every time.
