We are here for advice, not medical information, I just used common sense.
Question asker, I am sorry to have let you down. I will avoid questions like this in future.

I had no idea there were so many out there so thanks for the link Smiles.
And all the clarification from everybody was very helpful. It's very good to be informed of this kind of thing. I was just curious and didn't want to get myself in a mess a few years down the road. =]

"It is important to realize that sexual contact includes more than just sexual intercourse (vaginal and anal). Sexual contact includes kissing, oral-genital contact, and the use of sexual "toys," such as vibrators."

reader, anonymous, writes (27 July 2008): Most people think that kissing is a safe activity.
BUT
A person can most DEFINETLY CONTRACT certain sexually transmitted diseases from kissing;
( I don't mean dry kissing, I mean heavy, wet, shoving your tounge down your partners throat kissing)
Unfortunately, syphilis, herpes, and other diseases can be contracted through kissing;
I am adding this link; it has lots of information on all the various STD'S and how it can be contracted and treated;
I think it might be of great interest to you and it is VERY INFORMATIVE and EDUCATIONAL.

This means they are transmitted/passed on, through sexual intercourse. Not kissing.

like many std's HIV can only be transmitted through sex or direct blood to blood contact meanin if you have a cut and she has a cut and she's infected (really low chances)it's really rare but, there are a few that you can get without a cut in your mouth. herpes simplex 2 gonorrhea of the throat if someone has genital wharts and you ate her out you could get it but, again all of these are really rare.frankly I wouldn't worry about it much just wait a few weeks after getting to know someone to have any form of sex kissing is really low risk but, know their sexual history before you take it further

Some one else has explained about cold sores. That's the one you need to worry about.
But basically if you kiss someone you are exchanging a LOT of bacteria. Mostly ones that occur in your mouth normally, but if they have a bad throat or anything and kiss you then you stand a good chance of catching it.
Good Luck!! xx

reader, anonymous, writes (27 July 2008): You can get oral HSV-1 (Herpes Simplex Virus, Type 1) by kissing. That is better known as cold sores and it is estimated that up to 80% of the people in the US have the virus, but only a fraction of them actually get cold sores. Oral HSV-1 can also be transmitted to the genital region by oral sex. It is easy to contact if a partner has a cold sore and you have dry lips. It is also possible to get it even when there is no cold sore present, but rare. It is even possible to get oral HSV-2, but it is extremely rare for a person to have oral HSV-2.
