Did you have anal sex? Did his sperm or his penis (and sperm) get into your ass? If it's just sperm, odds are good you've got nothing to worry about. If you have unprotected anal sex, you odds are alittle worse, but if he's healthy you ahve nothing to fear- but PLEASE don't go around having unportected sex MUCH LESS unproteacted ANAL sex! Your anus has very thin skin which can absorb fluids much better than your vagina- which is one reason that anal sex spreads STI's better... tears and rips in the anus are another.

Anal sex can be alot of fun, but do it safely!

DrPsych agony auntI think the other post's have given you the basics on the possibility of sexually transmitted infections. I just wanted to add that your bottom is a host for e-coli bacteria which should live up there, and go nowhere else in your body. If you have unprotected anal sex and then have vaginal or oral sex then there is a possibility of a potentially very serious transmission of e-coli to places it was never intended to be which can make you very ill indeed. The message here is safe sex whatever you do - if you use a condom for anal sex then you need a new one for vaginal sex.

Well the biggest one to worry about is obviously HIV.

Go to a GUM clinic and get them to explain to you about safe sex and do some tests.

Put Gum clinic into google and find your nearest one. They are normally at the hospital.

Good Luck!! xx

A reader, anonymous, writes (13 September 2009):

You might have heard that Farrah Fawcett died recently from anal cancer. It was news to me that her cancer is associated with HPV, a virus commonly associated with cervical cancer. So in addition to all the bacterial nasties that you're certainly exposed to with anal sex, there can be incurable viral ones as well. If there was ever a reason to use condoms, that's got to be right up there.

A female reader, pinktopaz United States +, writes (13 September 2009):

Yes, if he has any infections. Anal sex is a VERY good way to contract any sort of infection. It soaks up anything in there (that's its job). If he doesn't have anything, then no, you shouldn't get any infections just from his sperm alone as long as he's clean.
