writes: Ok guys . I hope you can help me. My husband wants a little girl. Right know we have 3 boys. My mother in law and her sisters told me to do all the work in bed. My husband should just lay there while im on top. Is that true? Apparently according to their beliefs we help make the sex of the baby. My mother in law said my husband always takes charge in bed and gives it to me too rough . That's why we have all boys. So my questions are: is there a difference between making love, sex or just plain f@ and );?$ can we really determine the babies gender by positions and our taking the lead in bed? Here is some extra info. I'm a stay at home mom, my mother in law lives with us and I had my last two boys at home through water birthing. ( my mother in law delivered them because in Mexico she did that) Reply to this Question Share |

I work in the medical field and I never heard of anything couples can do to help determine the sex of a baby by having sex in different positions,So I'm gonna say,Don't think so.

hi
I have a friend who has five sons. She desperately wanted a daughter. she read up and was told to eat plenty of dairy prior to conception. And for some months after conception.
So she added in yoghurt, milk, add skim milk powder to mash potato, add extra skim milk powder when making custard.
And Cheese, cheese, cheese - cheese added to salads, on top of things, real cream based sauces.
Things she rarely ate enough of in the past. They had to add a room on to the house for the new baby, while she was pregnant.
As soon as she knew she was expecting a girl she went all out to finish
the new room in all shades of pink
Good luck
Regards
Abella

The position in which coitus takes place has no impact on the sex of the resulting offspring.....
You CAN assure yourself of a male/son by having your man wear his BOOTS when he does the deed to you....
Good luck....

More recent medical studies show there may be a correlation with what you eat and the gender of your baby. Also, the time of the year you get pregnant may also affect the baby's gender.
Position has nothing to do with it. That is an 'old wive's tale.'

I doubt the position has anything to do with gender, maybe the timing (with regards to ovulation ) can effect it.

What I learned… boy sperm swim faster, girl sperm live longer…. (basically that’s how it was taught to me)
So that if you want to have a girl you need to have sex 2 days before you ovulate,
To know when it’s coming you need to chart… you can either get an ovulation predictor kit or you can contact the local Catholic Church and ask about Natural Family Planning (it involves temp charting, cervix checking and mucus watching)… I used it to NOT get pregnant vs when I was trying… the night I conceived was when I ovulated and I knew that second it would be a boy and it was….

Back in the late 1970's there were several popular books dealing with ways for couples to improve their chances of conception, as well as favor the selection of one sex over another. If I recall correctly, girl babies are more likely when:
- You have intercourse a day or two BEFORE ovulation (and abstain for the next several days).
- Your husband ejaculates with you on top, or with your legs closed, or other positions where the insemination occurs closer to the vaginal opening, rather than deep inside you
- The intercourse is done quickly, before you build up a lot of internal lubrication
- You don't orgasm
I won't swear that I recall all of those points correctly, so you'll have to do a little research on your own about this. I think the book was called "Determine Your Baby's Sex", but I can't find an online reference to it so it may be long out of print. It was supposedly based on some scientific observations and verified with some groups of test couples. Doing all of these things supposedly raises the probability of a girl baby from about 50% to around 75%. By now I'm sure there are more studies that either confirm or refute these claims.
(Yeah, as a guy, it sounds like a LOT more fun to make boy babies than girl babies. My wife started reading about increasing chances of conception after we lost our first child to birth complications - and we weren't being successful at getting pregnant again. When she came across the information about favoring one gender or the other, she REALLY wanted a girl since the baby who died was a daughter. Even so, we decided to concentrate on just getting pregnant rather than trying for a particular gender. He was a boy - his sister arrived about 3 years later.)

I don't think so. The sperms with the XX, XY chromosome do not care what position you are having, or the kind of sex you are having (rough or vanilla). Sometimes the fastest, smartest sperm is a male, and sometimes a female, rarely it's a tie. I only know that if your belly grows to be vertical, it's a boy, if it's horizontal, it's a girl.
