writes: Can the morning after pill abort a baby? Just, I took it, and just under a week later I began a thick, brown period-like thing (presuming it's a period, but I'm not due for another 15/16 days). Could this be my body naturally aborting the baby, due to the morning after pill? I didn't realise it could do this, I thought it just stopped me from releasing an egg..I really need medical opinions here, so please, if you're not fully sure, don't confuse me lol.

The morning after pill DOES NOT induce an abortion, a miscarriage or any other termination of pregnancy. The morning after pill stops ovulation, so if you are already pregnant when you take it it will do absolutely nothing.
Sperm can live inside a woman's body for about 7 days give or take. This is why they have the morning after pill, to stop you from ovulating during the window that those sperm can still survive. If that eggs has already been released and fertilized, you will have no effect from the pill.
The reason you have such odd bleeding is because the pill contains hormones to stop ovulation. Basically you just super sized the amount of hormones in your body, so your cycle and possibly your mood can be affected. You should only worry if your period gets very heavy or you generally just feel not right with your cycle. If in doubt, consult your health care provider.
I hope this helps.

A morning pill can not cause an abortion or a miscarriage. These can only occur once you are pregnant. What a morning pill does is stops you getting pregnant in the first place. So, no a morning after pill can not get rid of a baby, but it will stop the baby being created, just like a condom or the pill. If you are concerned I suggest that you also talk to your doctor or nurse as they are medically qualified.

No the contraceptive pill stops you producing an egg. Usually girls take the morning after pill if they have had unprotected sex and do not want to have a baby. The morning after pill induces a miscarriage.
