it takes alot of trust from both parties.. I recently met a lovely christian man online he ticked all of the boxes we talked nearly everyday and recently talked over skype as he lives in another state.. being christians we both decided that we would not see other people or chat online till we met in person as we had grown quite fond of one another.. I chose to make my profile hidden and then he did well he said he did and today I had a feeling to go on the site we met on and much to my surprise his profile was active and he had been looking at other womens profiles on the site.. he appologized and said he was only looking but to go out of your way to go online and reactivate your account he was more than just looking... its to easy to cheat when your on a dating site especially if your a man.. trust is very very important especially online as you cant be sure these men or women are being totally honest about who they are... I also met my ex online and he found it too easy to cheat... my advice to you is to be careful and take everything you hear with a grain of salt till you meet in person and find out more about him

 Yes you can for sure. I think that it does take a very special degree of trust in the other person though which I would almost say is even more special to have because you don't have the person with you as a reminder often.
I want to be honest and say that I don't think that an excusive on line relationship works out all, or even most of the time but you always have to hope that what you know about the person will carry you through till eventually you two can meet.
