Hey,
your problem is a difficult one but you have been vague with details.
How long have you been friends? Has there ever been any signs that you two could be together? do you both feel the same way? have you ever thought about this before?
Long term friends can become lovers, but you need to make sure that you're both in the sane place mentally. That you both want to take that step. Making sure you're both 100% sure you want to take that step is crucial. If you dont it could ruin your friendship.
In conclusion, long term friends can become lovers, but it's best to find someone that isnt your long term friend to be your lover. Find a boyfriend/girlfriend. While you're younger meaningless sex may be fun but one day you'll want something more. I'd find someone who you could see yourself being with for a while, not necessarily marrying, but staying with.
hope this helped,
