A male reader, Andrew83 United Kingdom +, writes (5 January 2009):

Andrew83 agony auntLike others have said, i agree with them about the risk of getting an STD which should be your main concern in not catching.

Why do most young men and women think they can get away with not wearing "protection" or taking the "pill" at the very least, is it me or is it that you dont have "common sense" at all.

Protection is there for both male and female, so use it and keep yourself safe from being pregnant or catching an std.

See your doctor ASAP and get checked out for any std and even being pregnant. Use common sense.

A female reader, Tisha-1 United States +, writes (5 January 2009):

Tisha-1 agony auntYes, you can get pregnant when you have unprotected sex. All the fiddling around with the dates doesn't really mean that much. Sperm survive for quite a while inside a woman's vagina. Apparently, there's even a place for them to wait before heading into the cervix.

You can also get STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) from unprotected sex, so that's yet another reason for using barrier protection.

If you want to get pregnant, keep on having the unprotected sex. If you are trying to avoid it, use protection. If you need help with contraception, see plannedparenthood.org to find help near you.

Watch this video for further education and read all the information on the website at plannedparenthood.org, so that you are properly educated and can take care of your health.

In the meantime, it probably would be a good idea to buy a pregnancy test and follow the instructions on the box very carefully. If you need help picking out a test, ask the pharmacist; they are very helpful.

Take care of that body of yours, you only get the one.

A reader, anonymous, writes (5 January 2009):

I agree, I think you are much younger than your age on this post....Stop asking questions after the deed, start asking them before. Talk to a school nurse, your mother, planned parenthood (all communities offer these clinics to women).

You will most definately end up pregnant having unprotected sex. You are also at a very very high risk of contracting HPV, a virus that causes cervical cancer which is often deadly. The fact that you are very young in age is what puts you at risk, you don't have to have multiple sex partners to get it, and a condom is not effective in keeping you safe from contracting HPV. There is a vaccine now for the virus, but the jury is out on how effective it is at stopping the virus. Please make an appointment with a doctor and get an examination, if you are under 18, you will need to take your mom.....but she can help you and you should be able to talk to her about sex and your body.

A female reader, Honeypie United States +, writes (5 January 2009):

Honeypie agony auntYou really need to stop having sex til you can use protection. I know about heat of the moment, but no condom, no sex.

Pregnancy isn't the worst of it all, take a few and think of all the STD's that you can catch. He might say he doesn't have any, til you get one...

For some getting pregnant isn't all that hard.

A reader, anonymous, writes (5 January 2009):

I suspect you are much younger than you say you are, like between 10 - 15 years old.

If you can't spell 'Pregnant', you shouldn't even be having sex.
