reader, anonymous, writes (12 October 2008): technically if he give u money for the child then it counts as child support, as he contributing towards the welfare of the child, and yes he can stop u because he has parental rsponsibilty

You need some proper legal advice - I suggest going to a solicitor or trying the Citizen's Advice Bureau - do Ireland have an equivalent?
