Your medical records are confidential but I always think it is a good idea for your relatives to know what medication you are taking in the event of an accident so that they could communicate it to a medical professional. Young women go on the pill for period pains as much as for contraceptive reasons and you could say that to your mum if you are embarrassed about bringing up sex.

yes, anything you want help with at the doctors is all confidential. But ive found its always wise to never hide things from your parents, they always know when somethings being kept from them. Why not sit down with your mum and have a chat with her. Im sure she`d rather you go on the pill than get pregnant.
