Can I dye my hair again? The color isn't dark enough

Ok this isn't a relationship question and I'm not sure if I will get a real answer on this site but I couldn't find an answer anywhere else online. I do ask questions on here all the time, no relationship problems right now though! It's about my hair. I recently got a haircut in march. It was way shorter than I wanted. As it is growing back in it is awful looking, I'd describe it if I could but it's difficult. The top is much shorter than the bottom basically. I bought hair extensions because I just couldn't stand it anymore the way it's looking. My hair is a hard color to match so I made sure to buy human hair extensions that can be dyed to match.

Now when I got that awful haircut she convinced me to do blonde highlights, which looked terrible on me (I won't ever be going back there, don't worry). So when buying the extensions I was told to get the closest match then dye it the color I need, as long as it is a darker shade, they cannot be lightened. The ones I got matched pretty closesly, brown with blonde highlights, but not perfectly. I dyed my own hair with box dye my original brown just to get the highlights out. It turned out fine, just my regular hair. I then dyed the extensions the same box color. I did a strand test first to make sure it would turn out ok. It looked great, matched fine. But when I did the whole head set of extensions the blonde parts weren't the correct brown color as the rest. So when put on my head some matches perfectly and some is much lighter/doesn't match at all.

Sorry for so much back story but here's my question. Can I buy the same box dye I did the rest of the hair with again and dye just the blonde parts over again? I don't know if that would work to make it just a tad darker or what would happen. I really hope someone has experience with hair coloring and can help me out. Thanks!

look I dye my hair very often, I had red hair stripped it and got it blond, now I'm dying it brown again, but I'm no colorist, but the thing I learned was, color doesn't cover color unless you want it dark, since I I think you want it to go darker I suppose you could dye it again, look I know nothing of extensions because I don't use it, but the thing is sometimes when the hair is really damaged it doesn't retain the color as much and it fades VERY quickly making your hair look brassy, I don't know maybe the extensions are already too damaged ( if they were blond I don't know maybe the peroxide has damaged them too much, or were they natural blond?)

I don't know if I was helpful but you could try asking on yahoo as well...
