Question - (19 March 2010) 1 Answers - (Newest, 19 March 2010)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My brother's girlfriend missed her period. I went with her to get a test at the drug store and she took it. It was negative. I was at her house when her mom was home. Her mom found the test and she said it was mine. She called my mom and she started calling me a slut. My brother told her the truth and she didn't believe him. I have never had sex but my period did not come either. It has been two weeks and has not come. I also threw up this morning. My mom is being mean. She doesn't believe me. She thinks I am pregant for sure now. My brother's girl friend and I are together a lot. She's on the pill. Can her hormones affect my cycle if we are together a lot? Can that make me miss my period?

A male reader, C. Grant Canada +, writes (19 March 2010):

C. Grant agony auntIt's been documented that women living in the same home can have their cycles converge. But I've never heard of someone missing a period because a woman close to her was pregnant. You're likely just stressed -- particularly since your mother is behaving so badly.
