A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

ok so here's my problem. tonight i asked my husband if he really listens to me, because sometimes i have to ask him three to four times and eventually just call out his name.

he said he listens but doesn't answer because what i said was not important, i told him that he should at least say something in return to what i say. basically what i am asking is how do i get him to really listen??

im still young 21 to be exact and i just feel like crap.

Are you a chatterbox? Do you incessantly talk for hours on end with no sign of stopping or even pausing for breath..

If no.. Well the problem is he is not respecting you in the least. Telling your girl that what she says is unimportant, is = to saying SHE is unimportant. It would be better if he was just absent minded or occupied by other matters, but this goes deeper than him just not listening to you.

But if yes, then you could be driving him insane. Men like a little quiet every now and then.
