People who should be insignificant to me I worry about, so on so forth.Ive tried a lot of things, i was on anti-depressants from being 17 to 21 (im now nearly 23) and they made no difference, ive been to counselling, cbt, tried herbal remedies (including £12 a tub stress busting hot chocolate), if Im really honest I even took my degree (psychology) in an attempt to understand myself better (which has cost me the best part of £20,000!) i feel like ive exhausted all the suggestions and i still have the same troubles day in day out. It effects everything from my self-esteem to my relationships and its actually starting to really anger me that im like this!Does anyone else/ or has anyone else had similar problems and can suggest something that might help me. I really have had enough! Reply to this Question Share |

hi sweetie have you tried EFT there is a site the tapping world.com that are doing free counselling using EFT (its similar to the stuff paul mckenna does.) you just register and they send you online help to 'fix' yourself as it were. this stuff is brilliant, i used to suffer from agraphobia so i know exactly where you are coming from and it really inhibits your life. this technique can literally have you feeling better within 5 minutes and its free! i really hope you check it out xx

Hey i am 39 just had my first child. I know the helpless feeling of anixety. You are not alone. I have had aniexty attacks or what some call panice attacks. The medication that works for me is Lexapro I started on 5mg and now on20 mg. I am a supervisor at work aand six out of nine women under me are on medication for aniexty. Sometimes its easier to accept when you know you are not alone. We talk alot about and keep each others spirits up. I was alos give a very low dose of Ativan that I keep with me incase I haver an attack. Just knowing that I have something to take helps alot. I never evn take them. Also try adding a good multivitamin to your diet. Lower caffine amounts. My whole department joined a local gym and everyday after work we take an hour to work out. No gym ? try walkimg with some of your close friend talk out your anxiety out get it off your chest dont hold it in.

I kind of know where you're coming from. I have stuggled with anxiety and depression for some time. Sometimes life is good but then it swings back round to me becoming depressed again. I think that just some people, and some personalities, have a natural tendancy towards depression and anxiety. I dont think you can ever 'cure' yourself from this completely, but you can learn to cope with it and accept it as part of who you are. I think absolutely everyone will experience anxiety and depression in their life and it will take you whole life to understand yourself. Try to be kinder to yourself about this, its not a problem or a fault. I personally dont believe in antdepressants and medication because all medication comes at a cost so it should only be used when absolutely nessassary. You have already tried councelling and cbt, maybe try more alternative therapies? You might hit on something that really works for you. I find Reiki to be very beneficial. I've trained in degree 1 and 2 and found that it teaches you to take control of your own healing.I find that my depression and anxiety goes away when I'm at a point in my life when I'm having fun and enjoying myself. Maybe try to do things that you love doing or try something completely new? Try to take your mind off your worries by focusing on something outside yourself. Try something creative or physically active?Im sure you've probably heard these suggestions before and I know its easier said than done. Changing lifetime habits is very difficult. Just keep trying and I hope you find what works for you.Good luck :)
