For exercising, I can curl 20 pounds with my right arm at 8 to 11 reps, 3 sets, and up to 17 pounds with my left arm at 7 to 10 reps, 3 sets. However, I curl my right at 15 and my left at 15 just to balance it out. I'm small framed so I can't quite lift anyone heavier than say 50 pounds.

It totally depends on the reps and on the individual. I used to curl 25kgs in 7 reps of 15, followed by 2 reps of 10 at 30kgs.
One thing to remember though, if you have the correct technique, you only need to use half the weight. Diet and technique are the most important things. Concentrate on your technique, your attitude, your motivation and let the show offs worry about the weight. Find a weight that is uncomfortable to keep up with persistant repetitions. Don't try to lift weights you are not used to, or you will do more harm than good. Start small and work up. Keep training at around 3 days per week, mon wed and fri are prob the optimum days.
