reader, anonymous, writes (28 December 2008): Indeed Emily, this gentleman seems to judge the women and girls in British society quiet harshly, and being a British woman I don't like that, I don't like that at all. In Britain millions of women do have kind tender hearts, look at the voluntary groups and charities where women work hard without pay to help others. You find the British environment harsh, well, millions don't. Why is that I wonder? You talk about leaving, well it doesn't sound like you like the country or it's people very much. Maybe that's why your having problems. Nice, kind British girls won't like a man who looks down on them and their country. Join a charity or a voluntary group. Get into religion, join a church, a mosque, a synagogue or a temple. Spend time with the millions of other people in this country that work on giving something back, trying to help people in need. Give something back, rather than complaining your not getting enough. You want to find a nice girl, well become a nice man. Smile at people, help your neighbours, become a nicer person, and then you'll find that your spending time with the right people. Kind hearted people exist all round the world, it's you that needs to change.

You like in the UK. The girls in your town have hardly got walk 5 miles for water and witness massacres daily.
The girls you want are everywhere. You just don't see them because you are looking at the ones in clubs in short skirts.
If you want to meet a girl who doesn't go to the usual places then go and do some more unusual things. Go and volunteer, join clubs. Think what your ideal girl would enjoy doing and then go and do it.
Also stop being so dramatic.

Surround yourself with people like you, wether they be sisters in a convent, "Hippies" make youself happy first so you will have the strength to hep others, you will feel good in your soul. NEVER GIVE UP, I KNOW YOU CAN SURVIVE KEEP LOOKING UP! through the dark clouds and all.
