and how can we be less obvious about it?

I am a teacher, and yes it is ALWAYS obvious.
As a teenager, you think that you are hiding your feelings, and you think that the teacher doesnt notice, even if you are totally madly deeply (or you think you are) in love with them.
Honestly, when you are looking at it from a teachers view, from the front of the class, you can see it. It is very obvious from the way you behave, sit, look at us, and act around us. There are many massive signals which the student gives off without knowing. We have to try really hard to discourage any crushes, and we report them if we have any concerns to senior staff. They probably think that we never know, but if a teacher is worth their job, then they will never acknowledge the crush, or fuel any speculation about reciprocating the students feelings. We have to stay totally detached. If we showed that we knew, it could cause all sorts of problems, so we monitor the situation and act accordingly.
Sometimes it is very sweet if a student takes a shine to you, other times, it is actually very creepy.

They usually do, and know because they've seen it all before. But it doens't matter, since it's illegal for a teacher to ahve anything to do with a student. They can lose their job and go to prison. So if you like a teacher or a friends does, let it remain a crush.
