I think yes, we all grow though out our lives, so yes we do change gradually.
I think certain aspects of your personality stays the same, but there are so many factors that can change a person. All from drugs to trauma - to personal experiences.. You name it. Every action has a reaction.
I would find it harder if a person doesn't change at least a little over 10 years.

Erm well this is a matter of opinion. Some people believe that everyone stays the same and some people believe that time changes people. I think a mixture of the two. I believe that if someone was born with humour, theyll die with humour, if someone was a born liar, theyll die a liar. But at the same time i know that over time people can lose their spirits, lose their charms, and become bitter and twisted. It all depends on the person and how optimistic they are.
