Continuing the Harry Potter update thought I'd let you know I had a first date tonight with my bus girl. It went really well and she sent me a text saying as much too.

Catch is, I look so much younger than I actually am she was pretty shocked when I said I was 41. She reckons I look about 34!

She's about 26 by the way and her mum is 47!!

So that will probably be an issue but hey, iwe had a great time anyway and if it doesn't end up as a relationship then hopefully we'll still be friends!

I know large she differences can work in relationships bit I'm under no illusions that it may be an issue for her-which is fine by me although it would be nice to be with her (she'a stunning,,intelligent and I like her a LOT)..

Anyway, my final thought is when an opportunity comes up-don't hesitate,, grab it with both hands,, be yourself and run with it!!

[Mod note: this was more of an advice piece than a question, so I put it through as an article.]

quarky agony auntSo we had lunch today with one of her friends-when I got back to work, there was already an email waiting for me asking if I liked her friend because she's single too!

Needless to say, I got the hint!

Have to admire the way she let me down gently!

Was really starting to fall for her too-ah well, I'll get over it in time-and we'll still have the bus ride now and again I guess...

Lol. I love that since you are a true gentleman. Now these days people ask question about age first before they concider going in a date.

The way you're kind of vague shows me that you are very mature based on your last paragraph.

Anyway if love comes embrace it. Good luck on your second date.(^.^)

quarky agony auntthanks for your response. I could only guess at her age when I first asked her out-for all I knew she could have been 30 plus-honestly had no idea. And it wouldn't have mattered-i didn't ask her out guessing she was younger-I simply asked her out because there seemed to be a connection.

I'm not sure why you should know someone's age before asking them out- tho...how would that conversation go?

"Hi there, I really like you and would like to ask you out-how old are you first tho?"

"Get lost loser!"

Anyway, after date 2, I know know she's 28, she doesn't mind the age difference and we have another date this week.

And again, if it doesn't go any further, that's fine with me-at the very least, thee's one less stranger in the world!

well, you were supposed to know somebody s age before you date that person. Unless you just didn't care since apparently you've already known her age.

If she let go it might be temporary depending how your first impression was.

Good luck!
