About two years before you start your period you normaly get a sort of white discahrge. So the fact that it has now turned brown I think that you period started.
So if I was you I would talk to a parent or someone close about it.

Well, I think you should talk to someone about your questions...maybe a doctor or a trusted female adult- health teacher, parent, etc... I would say from experience, I'm not giving any medical advice, that it sounds like you're starting your period. Welcome to womanhood :-) Assuming that you're not sexually active and that you're healthy, the brownish discharge sounds like the beginning of a menstrual cycle. You should really tell your mother or someone you trust. Be careful about posting medical type questions on the internet...there can be a lot of crazy's out here! Good luck!
