Boyfriend left me at the scene of an accident

A female United States age 51-59, *an tto know writes:

When you take your boyfriend to do somthing that you didnt want to do in the first place and then you get in an accident that wasnt your fault and then your boyfriend leaves you at the scene of the accident disregarding you your car and the situation what am I supposed to think about that and what should I do and how shouod I handle it when it really hurt my feelings?

If the police were called my first instinct is that he does not want to be recognised by the police so fled. He clearly does not care much for you - otherwise he would stay to make sure you're ok.
