Boyfriend is not the charming little prince that I thought he was

Question - (18 January 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 18 January 2011)
A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I found my BF of almost 2 years lying about having a crush on a common friend before we started dating.I also found him lying about small stuff, nothing big, nothing about cheating.

We are in a LDR and we were planning of living together in around 2 years. I now feel I dont love him anymore, I care about him but his lying turned me off. Makes me think that he will lie when we are living together. HE is great otherwise...but now I feel that its improbable we will ever live together and I feel like we are eventually going to break up, like its just a matter of time. I feel like all the illusion vanished because of his little lies, like he is not the charming prince I thought..

Does this mean I stopped loving him? What should I do? I dont think Im capable of breaking up, since I still care about him....

A male reader, anonymous, writes (18 January 2011):

No it doesn't mean you no longer love him, but if he continues lying and doesn't come honest about all of his lies aka deceit you will start to resent him and that's what will ultimately brand your love for him over and done. The longer he takes to do the right thing the more your love for him will dwindle away.
