Do they look like this?

Bedbugs were eradicated in North America for many years, but because of world travel then are starting to reappear. They have reached epidemic levels in some towns. If you have traveled and stayed at a motel recently then you could have easily brought them back in luggage. If you live in an apartment building and someone else brought them in then they will spread all over the building.

Scabies can be transmitted by animals to humans, but it is less likely than fleas. Sabies is caused by a mite (not a dust mite) and are more common in animals who spend time outdoors, the animal will have little sores all over it's ears, and then down it's legs as the animal sleeps in a curled up position. The way to test this for sure is your vet will take a little skin scraping and look under the microscope, but you would have to treat the animal not just yourself. There are no safe over the counter treatments for scaobies in cats and better to get a dog checked out by the vet as well.....The way to avoid is to keep the animal from coming into contact with strays and to not let it roam around especially in rural areas where there is heavy weeds and things like that for the mites to reproduce in.

It sounds like flea bites to me, do you have pets?

Usually the fleas prefer the pet over humans, but if your house and furniture are infested, then you need to remove the animals, bathe them and then treat them with Advantage or Frontline flea treatment specifically made for either cats or dogs and dosage by their weight.

Do not use Hartz or any of the over the counter flea treatments, althoug less expensive a lot of bad allergic reactions occur with these types and then you have vet bills treating your pet for the damage done....I had a very bad experience with Hartz for my dog a shih-tzu. Remove the animals and use a flea bomb for each room or hire a pest control to come spray. Before you do that vacuum furniture beds, under the furniture and empty the vacuum and or put a flea collar inside the bag.

Treat your pet every four weeks with flea treatment or sometimes three weeks is better if it starts to wear off the pet. Wash all the pets bedding, and put Seven dust on the filling, no more than 7% dust....this will kill all the fleas and eggs and larvae. You do not have to use a special flea shampoo on the pets, as fleas are killed by any soap product, although leave what ever you use on the pet for a few minutes before rinsing.

Flea bites hurt when you are bitten, they are small and red and itch and usually on people they are on your ankles, but if it happens while sleeping, it could be anywhere on your body.

Well, yes of course consult your doctor...but a dust mite bite???? There are dust mites all over the place, they're crawling on your skin right now...that wouldn't be what's biting you. It could be mosquitos, or even spider bites, and there are such things as bed bugs. Clean up a bit and if you still keep getting bites or an allergic reaction, definitely go see your doctor.

There is nothing wrong with seeing your doctor just to get things ruled out, but in the mean time, put your pillows in the tumble dryer on high heat, buy a mattress protector, and strip your bed and vacuum it.

Deep clean your room just be be safe. Deep clean your pets and boyfriends if you have any.

Good Luck!! xx
