Down the road, you guys might not be together anymore (you are young) then you're next boyfriend might not enjoy having to see your ex's name on you. That's just a bad idea, in my personal opinion.

I think there was a program on Tattoos in the Discovery Channel a some time ago that said 90% of tattoos on boyfriend's/girlfriend's name(s) get surgically removed or done over to cover and change the name into some other design. Most famous is of course, Angelina Jolie.

A symbol for your boyfriend is probably a better idea.
A tattoo is a lifelong branding. Think very hard about exactly what you want and where you'll be happy with it before you get it done. Remember that they don't always go exactly how you want them to.... I learnt that one the hard way.
Think about how you'd feel if you and this man did break up in the future? And how you'd feel showing a new partner.
Personally I think forearm tattoos look a little manly, but the wrist is not a good idea for employment reasons. I have a tattoo on my hip, which I love. It's great because it's always covered. Nobody gets to see it unless I let them.
I also have one on my shoulder.... But I've been informed by many people that I'll ruin people's wedding photos if I'm ever asked to be a brides maid. Haha! :D

So if you were thinking the arm area the forwarm would probably be better or your ankle. All of mine can be covered with business clothes. However i would think twice about getting his name tattooed to you. Not saying that you wont be together forever but you never know. Maybe think of getting a symbol that represents him or even get his name in chinese lettering instead.
