Hey Everyone I'm going to get tattooed on Tuesday and I'm going to get my Dude's name on me I don't have any tattoos and I'm wondering if I should get his name on my wrist or my forearm which would be best for a girl or does it not matter?

You just probably shouldn't get his name put on you. You'll regret it later, most people do. Something that stands for him would be much better. Down the road, you guys might not be together anymore (you are young) then you're next boyfriend might not enjoy having to see your ex's name on you. That's just a bad idea, in my personal opinion.

wonderingcat agony auntI think there was a program on Tattoos in the Discovery Channel a some time ago that said 90% of tattoos on boyfriend's/girlfriend's name(s) get surgically removed or done over to cover and change the name into some other design. Most famous is of course, Angelina Jolie.

I understand and I've thought long and hard about my decision And I don't mind having his name on me I'm actually excited to be getting it I want to get two tatts one sorta visible and the other on my lower back And I figured that since his name would be much smaller than a Iguana or a girl on the back of a Ram (a symbol for aries) that I would get it on my arm or wrist (inner)

I agree with Jezebel.

A symbol for your boyfriend is probably a better idea.

A tattoo is a lifelong branding. Think very hard about exactly what you want and where you'll be happy with it before you get it done. Remember that they don't always go exactly how you want them to.... I learnt that one the hard way.

Think about how you'd feel if you and this man did break up in the future? And how you'd feel showing a new partner.

Personally I think forearm tattoos look a little manly, but the wrist is not a good idea for employment reasons. I have a tattoo on my hip, which I love. It's great because it's always covered. Nobody gets to see it unless I let them.

I also have one on my shoulder.... But I've been informed by many people that I'll ruin people's wedding photos if I'm ever asked to be a brides maid. Haha! :D

Don't be silly. You'll go through a lot of time, money and pain having it tattooed over with something else once you've broke up with your 'dude'. If you absolutely MUST get a tattoo, get a butterfly or something.

I would get it somewhere that can be covered so that later on in life if you get a job that requires no tattoos you can just cover up. So if you were thinking the arm area the forwarm would probably be better or your ankle. All of mine can be covered with business clothes. However i would think twice about getting his name tattooed to you. Not saying that you wont be together forever but you never know. Maybe think of getting a symbol that represents him or even get his name in chinese lettering instead.
