He also tried to go with most of my mates apart from me.. He acted like some sort of animal that has no morals..should I move on? I don't think I could ever go out with him now after the way he acted in the bar?

It seems as if he's exploring his sexuality and is not ready to settle down with one person.
He probably became more distant after you showed how you felt because he wants to protect both you and himself from a potentially inevitable let-down.
In my opinion - don't get too serious about him. By the looks of things this is not really what you want from a partner. You might be able to / want to become just his friend at a later stage.
