I was upset over something, you know, just some bad luck and stuff, so I decided to talk to my girlfriend about it. She made me laugh and I told her to grow up. However she took this very seriously and got offended. Are girls more serious and emotional then they let on?

oh yes!

most people put on an act when they are upset .. everyones emotional deep down no matter how they cover it up..some do it better than others

this probably hurt her but she will come around, =)

oldfool agony aunt"Grow up" is not a very nice thing to say. In fact it's kind of insulting. If someone said it to me I'd feel pretty pissed off, too.
