Proms is coming up soon and he told me that he "might" want to ask me to go to prom but he doesn't know. I don't understand where we stand. He says things like you're pretty and amazing and i love you. but i don't think he means it. Do I tell him how I feel and see where that takes us? or do I just leave it and wait to see what happens?

First off, yes, ALL guys are that confusing. ha. Although they will always deny it and be like, "No. You girls are the confusing ones!" I, personally, wouldn't wait for him to ask me. Seeing as guys are as unpredictable and confusing as they are, he might not even ask you. And then there you'll be, sitting at a table, all alone, on prom. Wouldn't that suck? So, depending on how much you want like a REAL date, go with the two other options. Just go with your girls and have an awesome time. OR just bring up the topic with one of your guy friends and see if they want to go, just casually.
Besides, his guy friends might just be screwing around with you. The guys at my school do that ALL the time. They'll be like, "Hey Lindsey, Zack wants you. Haven't you ever had fantasies about screwing a football player?"
Also, to a certain extent, a lot of guys just want to screw on prom night. So he might just be buttering you up for that. What can I say, guys are... immature and cavemanlike. haha. I hope this helped you. Otherwise I'll kind of feel bad inside. Haha. Good Luck! :D
