I really wanted to go the natural route as oppose to invitro or tubular surgery. Does anyone have any suggestions and /or has anyone been in a similar situation and what were the outcomes?Thankyou M Reply to this Question Share |

He simply told me that those were my options. A number of people have told me the same jezabel and Tisha... (BTW thank you for your responses) that i should be able to conceive with one tube. It is just that, I been wondering why I've never gotten preganant?... I am planning to see my Dr. a.s.a.p

I know someone who had one ovary removed in her 20s. She went on to have two children. I haven't quizzed my other friends as to their potential fertility.
As long as you have one functioning ovary with an unblocked Fallopian tube, and no other issues, I would imagine conceiving "naturally" would be quite possible.
But this is a conversation for your doctor, of course. Discuss all your options with him/her. If I were you, I'd go in with a list of questions written out and go through them one by one.
Good luck!

Did he say the blockage was in any way a health risk down the line?

You could ask your doctor for clomid, a fertility med that will improve your chances but really as long as you keep track of your ovulation you should be fine. Your tubes alternate putting the egg out each month so you have a chance every other month instead of every month, thats all.

What does your doctor tell you? Does he suggest surgery to unblock the tube? Is your other one healthy and functioning?
