reader, anonymous, writes (17 October 2006): even though im a girl i have crazy long curly hair and i love it. but im pretty tired of all the maintence it takes. my brother and my dad who also have curly hair cut their hair short enough that there is no curl left.
some things that u can try is go to the drug store and get a perm kit, chemicalize ur hair, leave it in for the length u would if u put curlers in and then wash it out ( it works if u do it right.) i bought a chi hair straightner for 280.00 and it works great, i love it. and there are chi products that u could use with it to. or u can go and have ur hair chemically straightend at a salon.
hope this helps. oh and i like guys with curls, so dont be insecure, u may just need to style or cut it differently

reader, anonymous, writes (17 October 2006): walk in to a couple or three beauty salons (not a barber shop) .. and ask for their advice.. there is a japanese permanent straightening (good for at least 10 months to a year) it's pricey though but it's worth it.. again ask for a professional hair consultant advice.. good luck

You may want to consider growing your hair out. I don't know of very many girls who don't want to play with a guys hair when it's curly like that. Also, it's not like everyone has hair like that, so it will help you to stand out and be noticed. You could go with a very short hair cut, where the curl wouldn't be that noticeable, or go to a salon. There are professional chemical straightners that work on all hair types.
