I want to give my boyfriend the keys of my partment but the problem is, the door to get inside of the building, that key is a magnet one. So when I went to the office and ask for another one they said no, I can only have. Is anyone has any idea what should or is it possible to duplicate it?

Ask why they will not allow your boyfriend to have a duplicate.

It may be against the rules of your tenancy agreement so check your paper work.

Follow the rules until you are prepared to move in together. You will need a reference for you next place so you need to keep your land lord on side.

Good Luck!! xx

A reader, anonymous, writes (21 April 2008):

Duplicating this key could be illegal. What are the reasons they won't give you another key? If he signed up as a tenent; moved in with you, they might. By giving you an extra key to give to what they see as a stranger, you could be opening the door in reducing security for others.
