writes: Hi Everyone.I'm not one to read books, and reviews, infact the last book that I read from start to finish was +- 4years ago, as I do have a pretty busy life style.I want to improve my reading skills and general knowledge about many things and would like to know from you guys around the world what kind of books you'd recommend to improve my general knowledge on life, health,wealth,people, etc.I want to be able to talk with people and have a large variety of things to chat about, and make myself feel better.Any advice will be greatly appreciated.Kind Regards. reader, anonymous, writes (20 January 2006): since you say you have a difficult time sitting down and reading books at length, why not go to the bookstore (or library), and look in the reference section. there is a wide variety of books to choose from that don't take a long time to read as you can read them in sections. i love books like these because they give a variey of infotmation on a wode range of topics, and enough to be able to start conversations on just about anything. books you might find interesting are:4000 Things You Should Know--info on geography, buildings, plants, transport, science, peopleA Brief History of Everything--very good read..everything from the big bang to today.Mamoth Book of Great inventions--inventions from the beginning of "civvilization" to todayand i also reccomed any of the "Uncl John bathroom readers"they give a variety of histories and info on pretty kuch everything imaginable.all of these books sit on my shelf at home, and whenever i need to check something out, or just read for fun about things that are current, i pick up these books. there is no need to read them in a linear way which might help you with your busy lifestyle (as it helps me to be knowledgable in mine)also: have you ever thought about picking up the newspaper and reading it? current events are great conversation starters!hope this helps you :)

reader, anonymous, writes (19 January 2006): Chicken Soup for the soul makes you feel glad to be alive and it made me think twice about being nasty or selfish.They are really heartwarming and amazing stories such as relationships,laughter,love its such a lovley book i promise it will be one of the best reads ever.

A few books come to mind, I hope they help.
1. The road less traveled (Honestly, I think GOD wrote it)for spiritual growth
2. The DA VINCI CODE by Dan Brown for intriguing mystery
3. A MAP OF THE WORLD by jane Hamiltion for a diversification of lifestyles
4. The MAGIC OF THINKING BIG by David J. Schwartz, Ph.D. for a different ways to be successful.

1. Magic of Thinking Big by Dr. David J Schwarz
2. Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki
3. The Millionaire's Mind by Thomas J Stanley.
