Question - (21 October 2010) 1 Answers - (Newest, 22 October 2010)
A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

So my boyfriend and I broke up on and off about 3 weeks ago, but kept talking and arguing for a few weeks. It was getting so difficult that last week i decided to completly cut off all communication with him because he kept leading me on. I am still in love with him and still want to be with him this is so difficult. One night when we were still talking he said he had slept with someone else and hung up on me. I called him back crying and made him swear the truth so that i could definatly move on, he promised it wasnt true he was just upset and jealous that i was going out.

I am still friendly with my ex's friend, only because he has made the effort to stay in touch with me. I asked him one night in confidence if my ex had slept with someone when they were on holiday and made him promise not to say anything. BIG MISTAKE he went stright to my ex and told him, and i got a long nasty email from my ex telling me to stay out of his business and not discuss it with his friend. SInce then his friend has still made the effort to be friendly with me and is even giving me a lift somewhere tommorow, i am upset that he backstabbed me but for some reason i dont want to drop him as one of my friends, and i will never bring up my ex again to him. What should i do??

Aunty BimBim agony auntWell, it was HIS friend, not yours, where you YOU think HIS loyalties would lie?

I would put the friendship with his friend on the backburner for a while and cultivate some new ones.
