 Tell you bf about him immediately, and ask if you could invite your old friend to dinner with the both of you. Do not, under any circumstances, see your friend alone. Even if nothing happens, your bf could find out about it then wonder at the secrecy.
Keep everything in the up-and-up, and your bf won't have any troubles. Maybe they can be friends, then everyone can see everyone and all will be good.
