writes:hi i am 20 and m with a guy for d last 3 yrs. this guy, my bf was gud...very sweet at first...but as time passed he has changed a lot...not as a person but surely his habits have changed. now he drinks ..smokes..gambles...n is alwayz out busy with his friends, partying or roaming out. i am really worried about our life later on.he is not at all worried about his future, career etc. and i m afraid and dont know how to tell my parents about him. i know they wont agree for our relation as he is not settled and very irresponsible. he still loves me and i luv him too.. but i dont know how long can i go on like this.. pretending to be happy.and on the other hand, there is my friend, i know this guy from a long tym..he proposed me 2 years back..n i rejected him coz i was already committed...v stopped talking 2 each other..but now again v r in contact n i feel really close to him...i think m falling for him ..coz hez really very caring n loves me a lot..m really confused...my friend is the kind of guy whom my parents will approve at first glance..n my bf doesnt stand even near to that...m not comparing...but m forced to think this way...specially becoz my bf doesnt care anymore..i tried to convince myself that m falling for this guy becoz m not getting the attention from my bf..but i dont know what is actually true!!me n my bf broke up for a month..but then i really started missing him...n he changed too for a few days...n then he is back to normal...i dont know what 2 do;..m tired of telling my guy what i want...n my friend...does everyh9itng without even asking for it..while i expect all this from my guy!! plzz help me!!

 This is going to sound simple but I know it may not be that simple for you, but:
1. What do you want and need from you man?
2. Is V of your BF likely to give you more of what you want and need?
3. Which one do you love?
4. Which one loves you?
Answer those 4 questions and you will know whom to drop and whom to pick up.
It might be hard on the one you drop but he will get over it; almost everyone is dropped at one point or another and they all get over it.
If you make a “commitment” to someone short of marriage, and that person changes their habits (drinks ..smokes..gambles...is always out busy with his friends) they broke their side of the commitment, you don’t have to hold your side.
