Am I tricking myself into thinking I'm still pregnant, or did the abortion fail?

A female Canada age 30-35, anonymous writes:

in september when i was 2 months pregnant, i was more or less forced into having an abortion. ever since then i have still been having symptoms and every since the abortion i have regretted it and hated myself for it. i know its stupid, but i feel like im still pregnant.

ever since the abortion i have regretted it and hated myself for it. i've felt sick, had cramps ever since, my back aches, my breasts have gotten bigger, i get weird cravings, i've been very emotional and tired, and sometimes i feel flutters in my belly. i have been bleeding every month like a period, but sometimes it just seems different in a way, and have had spotting a few times in between periods, which i have never experienced before.

my belly doesnt really look bigger, but my friend only gained 10 lbs and didnt show throughout her entire pregnancy and didnt even know she was pregnant. so i guess what my question is, is that should i be worrying about my abortion possibly have failing? or am i tricking myself into believing i'm still possibly pregnant? ps. i would be due in about a month. thanks for your time !

A reader, anonymous, writes (11 April 2011):

I really doubt that the abortion failed because by law when an abortion is performed you have to go back to the doctor and he checks the womb to make sure that all the tissue from the unborn baby has been washed out. You are probably experiencing a false pregnancy.
