Am I stupid for considering a long distance relationship?

A female United States age 30-35, *riaz writes:

I met a guy when I was on vacation in Hawaii. We matched on bumble, and went out a few times while we were there. We had a lot of fun together (no sex). I could see myself falling for him. But he lives out of state. I live in Los Angeles, and he lives in Reno, Nevada, and neither of us are willing to move.

He's everything I'm looking for, and I think I'm what he's looking for too. But we live 8 hours apart.

He says hes not looking for just a vacation fling with me. He wants to continue to date me even after we go back home. He's willing to try long distance, but I'm on the fence.

Some of my friends did well with long distance, but they knew eventually it would end. For us, one of us would have to move, and neither of us are willing to.

Am I stupid for even considering this with him?
