Am I pregnant even though I have a heavy period?

Hey, all. Ready for another ''am I pregnant?'' question?

My period was two days late, though I did get it and it seemed to last as long as a normal period did and was just as heavy. I took a pregnancy test today, just to be sure. It was negative, but I'm still wondering if there's a possibility that I'm pregnant. I know I'm probably not, but I'm good at being paranoid as hell.

Well, it has been a few weeks since the sex, which was on the 31st of January and the 2nd of February. I should be fine, but I keep having dreams about babies, which is freaking me out.

ArmyMedic agony auntSee your doctor and speak to him, often if you are menstruating and pregnant, it can be a sign of ectopic pregnancy.

I understand that you don't know if you are pregnant or not yet, but it's really important to see a doctor ASAP, and find out. I had to resuscitate a girl who had an ectopic, so it really can be life threatening!

jessica04 agony auntYou totally CAN have your period and still be pregnant. It's not common, but it does happen. It can vary from light spotting, to actual menstruation.

If it was a few weeks after you had sex that you took the test, then I would think you're fine. Maybe take another, and if it's still on your mind, go see your doctor, just to be sure.

Not liking the wording on that question. I *had* my period. It's over. But (and I forgot to put this in the question) my lower abdomen seems to be a bit larger than normal. Not to the point where it's making my pants tight, or than anyone but me has noticed, but it's a bit larger.
