Wait until at least the 8th before testing again and if negative test again 5 days later if you have not had your period. At the moment your test result means nothing. AP

If you normally have a 28 day cycle you are were probably ovulating on 25 Dec. Sperm can survive inside you for up to 5 days, so if this was the case you could be pregnant because you had sex on the 22nd. If you normally have a 30/31 day cycle, you could have ovulated (be most fertile) 2/3 days later, for instance on the 27th or 28th and you had sex on the 27th (good!). You did not say how long your normal menstrual cycles are, but you normally ovulate about 14 days before your next period is due. The if fertilisation takes place, your embryo will implant about 5 days later and you should be able to start testing for pregnancy, with an early pregnancy test about 2 days before your period is due. If you have a 28 day cycle, you could probably start testing on the 6th of January, but better to wait until the 8th, since your pregnancy hormones might not be high enough to get a positive test result if you test too early. Always test first thing in the morning.
I understand that you would like to know now, if you are pregnant or not, but there really is no way of knowing until your period is due. In the mean time, take folic acid, don't drink too much alcohol (just in case) and try to think of other things, it makes the time pass quicker!
