It was literally about 3 inches long, all the way from my wrists up to about 5 inches above my elbow (above there it was/is quite fine and unnoticeable). It was also quite thick and dark. It made me really self-conscious and afraid to go anyplace where I had to show my arms; several people made comments about it and said it was sort of gross, especially because my skin is quite fair and the dark hair was extremely noticeable. So, when I noticed that my cousin shaved her arms, I decided I would too. However, it's really annoying because I have to shave them so frequently, because of course the stubbly stuff that grows back is super gross looking. So I was wondering...is there anything I can do that will permanently keep it from growing back? Or, is there at least a way to maybe get it to grow back thinner? I don't regret doing it; I feel so much more comfortable now, but I get so sick of all the shaving!Any responses gratefull accepted :) thanks everyone

Firstly, waxing is far better than shaving; the results last for much longer and when the hair grows back it is much finer and not stubbly. I buy the strips and wax my own arms, it's very easy. I know the instructions always say treatments last for up to 4 or 5 weeks, but I tend to do it every 3 to keep on top of things. Secondly, I use an machine called an epilator to keep things tidy if the hairs start growing back in between waxing, and in fact this has virtually eliminated my need for waxing. This machine looks a bit like an electric razor, but instead of shaving the hairs it pulls them out- painful at first but you soon get used to it! They cost about £30 + over here (UK). They are best used on short hair as it is less painful, but also means you don't have to wait until the hair is long enough to wax. It also ends up much cheaper in the long run. I also used to get taunted at school about this- people said I was like a werewolf! But please don't listen to those people. If they have nothing better to do than taunt people who look a bit different to themselves they're not worth your attention. You're lucky to have dark hair and a striking complexion.
