A female United States age 36-40, *mbaby writes:

i made a new best friend. And my other "old" best friend seems kinda jealous like if i tell my new friend something that i don't tell my old one she gets mad. and the reason im not telling my old friend is that she blurts out everything i say if i don't want it said.. also my old friend gets mad at me for the little things like if i don't tell her secret or if i don't invite her over or if i am talking to my new friend and i don't talk to her for like a minute she gets mad.... when i don't think i did anything wrong..and in the process of my "new" friend becoming my friend mo "old" friend said the my "new"friend was mean and she said all this stuff about her but now that me and my "new" friend are really close my "old"friend is trying to steal her from me....why do u think that is and why do u think she gets mad at me for small things? help me out

Some people are just jealous or petty by nature. She probably feels threatened by your new best friend. I would nicely remind her that you are adults and not in high school and there is room in your life for more than one person. If she cant cope then maybe its time to move on. Pepole do change and maybe you have evolved into a new person and she hasnt yet.
