I hope this helps to put your mind at ease...

There has never been a case in the whole world of HIV or Aids been transmitted through mouth to mouth kissing as far as I know. There have been cases of lesbians carrying the virus, but this is very, very rare. Most people get aids either through anal or vaginal sex, through sharing dirty needles, through blood transfusions (before the medical people tightened up the rules)
For you to get infected by the HIV/Aids virus, your girlfriend would have to have a cut on her mouth, you would have to have a cut on your mouth and you would have to do some deep kissing for very long, and even then it's unlikely that transmission would occur.
Your worried, you want to have more information.. OK no problems. In the UK, we have one of the biggest charities that study and fund research into HIV and Aids. It is amongst the top research centres in the world. Please contact the Terrence Higgins Trust, here is there website, where you can read up about the disease, how it's caught and how it can be passed on. They have a telephone helpline, you can also give them a call, they have doctors available that can explain everything to you... http://www.tht.org.uk/
You present as aged 18-21 (overage) and currently living in the UK. You should have had sex education about sexual diseases when you was at school. It's sad that you are asking this question, it's sad that your school has failed in it's duty to educate you. No problem, you are a young adult, it is now your duty to educate yourself. Give THT a call, they are the experts.
This may be your first experience, but you really do need to relax and stop worrying. If your worried about a kiss, you'll be suicidal if you ever get to the point of having sex with somebody you like.
PS: I won't tell you to go for a test, no doctor in the UK will test you if you have only kissed a girl. Taking the HIV/Aids test brings it's own complications, you first have to have a really good reason for them to do this, and a kiss from somebody I'm afraid would fail.

The fact is, we don't actually know for a fact how HIV/AID's spreads. Much about the disease is a complete mystery to scientists...
I'm afraid that no one will be able to really ease your mind. The only thing that is going to help you get back on track is if you get yourself tested. I recommend going to small clinic or a doctor you trust.
Remember, no doctor or nurse will look down on you for being tested. Infact, it's very responsible to do so, and anyone who is sexually active (even in a committed relationship) should be tested at least every six months.
Keep your head up and hang in there!
