After we already go out and I'm interested she tells me she's been seeing someone else! What does that mean?

Hi,

There's a girl I've liked for quite a while now. I've taken her out for lunch a couple of times, just as friends and have got her number too.

Its just about the end of school term and she said that we should get some dinner one day before she heads back home for summer. I agreed it was a good idea and we're sorting something out for next week.

However, the other day after class we started chatting and she said she that she'd been seeing someone for a couple of years, but wasn't really interested in him and that she should have dumped him a long time ago.

The fact that she mentioned this to me today and never mentioned him ever before, does this mean that she'd like to date me? Or does it mean something else?

I think it means she's excited to get to know you but she's letting you know she does have a boyfriend. To be honest, she sounds like the type that likes to have someone new lined up before she gets rid of the old. Start slowly as friends and proceed with caution!
