It has got me kind of worried because even when we were shy before things weren't this awkward. So what I'm saying is I feel like I did something wrong, and I'm afraid that if I try to talk to him about it things will get worse. So...am I just being paranoid, or is it something else? :/

 I don't think you've done anything wrong. I think he may just not know what the next step is. If you're both shy, then you'll have probably built up to that kiss for a long time. He's probably not sure how to behave around you now or what to do next. I think you should invite him to meet up with you and just hang around for a bit and talk. See how it goes. Hope I helped.
