Hi, fat is still fat saturated or not. Unsaturated fat is healthier thats the main difference.
"you should have no more than 70g fat a day if you’re having around 2,000 calories daily." (http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/diet/advice/fat_intake.htm)
Each gram of fat accounts for 9 kcals. Protein - 4kcal, carbs - also around 4kcal (more like 3.75kcal), alcohol - 7kcal.
By the end of the day you need to keep your calorie intake to a certain minimum/maximum. Fat, protein and complex carbohydrates keep you going for longer than simple carbs and alcohol because they are more complicated and it takes longer for the body to break them up.
So you cant just avoid fat, you need fat, try to keep saturated fats to a minimum - a very rough guide - I would say that ALL fried foods are high in saturated fats, labels will give you more info on each specific product.
All the best :)

this is a bit confusing, and both calories and fat are important when youre tryign to loose weight. If you are jsut trying to be healthy, go for things low in saturated fat, but make sure you egt enough "healthy fat" like omega 3,6 and 9 etc... these come from fish, and some vegetable oil products, seeds and nuts etc...
If you are really trying to loose weight, then you need to reduce calories, as your body stores extra calories as fat, and reduce fat as well to make you healthier!
Hope this helps!
