Okay if someone i was with came up to me and said 'here's a brand new car' it would be rather pointless... but if i'd said in conversation to them i wanted to go to italy, and they bought me a postcard with italy on it, i have to say i would like the postcard more, knowing that they had listened to me, which means a lot more.
The point is, you don't have to spend a lot... if you can get hold of a copy listen to 'kenny rogers - buy me a rose', it's a great song that you could benifit from =]
Buy her a rose, pick her a daisy, or a rock of the beach which is shaped like a love heart, anything so crappy that it's actually romantic. If she mentioned to you that she has never seen a film before, go and rent it... make her a meal. True love doesn't cost anything!
Let us know how it goes xxx

What you need is romance!
Romance is free as long as you are creative. It's just about letting her know that you love her.
Walk past and kiss the back of her neck. Bring her home a bar of chocolate with a ribbon and a little note with an X on it and leave it some where.
We girls just want to know that you are thinking about us and that you are still putting in some of the effort that you did when you first started dating us.
Good Luck!! xx

How big a house do you have? Do you have a garden? Or a backyard? Do you have an attic? Do you have a basement? Are a bit artistic? or at least, have artistic taste?
There's zillios of things to do around the house (in addition to Gina's suggestion), that does not cost a lot of money. Just a lot of sweat and muscles.
Ask your wife if she would like something in the house or garden that could do with a makeover.
House.
For the house, this could simply involve re-arranging the layout of the furnitures in the living room, the porch, the bedroom, etc etc. You'd be amazed at how different the room looks just moving things around. More space, less space, unusual placements, etc etc. Put a throw on the stool by dressing table, a silk scarf by thelight on the night stand by the bed, etc etc.
Get ideas from the home decor magazines (get old ones from second hand book shops). Go to thrift shops to find new stuff that are unique and cheap!
You'd have fun discussing new ideas with your wife. This is a project that you can do together, as it would involve looking at mags for ideas, or hunting at stuff in flea markets or garage sales.
Garden.
The same concept applies as doing a project with the house. Look for ideas. Plan. Hunt some plants, ideally native or indigenous plants so you know they will last.
To make it cheap and fun, see if you have any friends (as ask around, or post a request on the web ... whichever site that is relevant and approriate for this) that has a spare plant that you could get. Not only will you have fun planning the garden, you'll have time to hook up with some old friends (or make new ones) too.
If you have artistic flair, there's all kinds of stuff that other people see as "junk" but you can turn it into "works of art". Just use your imagination. Wooden wagon wheel, wooden crates, etc, can be turned into potted plants holders/racks in the garden. If they rot after a few years, throw them away and hunt for new ideas.
There are two risks to these projects though. First, you two will have arguments on who wants what kind of changes, and second, at the end of the you will be too tired to do anything else.
OK. This time my inputs have nothing to do with romance and sex. Just something practical. How boring :-(
