Question - (20 October 2014) 1 Answers - (Newest, 20 October 2014)
A female United Kingdom age 22-25, anonymous writes:

Ok, so i have a crush on this girl 'S', but she knows and now she has decided she hates me.

There is another girl, 'A', who is one of both mine and 'S's best friend. Now she thinks i have a crush on her and told a couple of people this, including her ex, who is one of our best friends. Her ex still loves A though.

The thing is, i DONT have a crush on A, and i accidently asked her out so now i dont know what to do.

A female reader, CindyCares Italy +, writes (20 October 2014):

CindyCares agony aunt I am curious, how did that happen ?... How do you ask somebody out " accidentally "?!

Anyway, don't panic. If you have changed your mind

( whether you have realized that you don't really want to go out with A, or that your accidental date would fuel her idea that you crushing on her , and gossips about your presumed crush ) just tell her : I am sorry, but, on second thought, I reflected about it and it would not be a good idea for us going out together. Mine was a spur-of-the-moment impulse, but tbh I am not totally into it and I don't want to lead you on and mortify you by giving you less of all the attention and appreciation that you deserve ". She will hate you for about 15 minutes, but then , if she is an intelligent person, she will see that you have been honest, and considerate of HER feelings ,in choosing to not string her along.
